Prior to the official announcement of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the much curiously awaited Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 7 operating system’s details are rumored to be out on the blogs. Despite no signs of elaboration on the topic from the Microsoft itself, officials of the company seem eager pointing out indirectly about mobile phones Windows Mobile 7’s releasing this year. Full functionality and user interface details are also whispered to go public near, on or during MWC.

It has also been reported that those who are familiarized to modern-day multitasking capabilities on smartphones might lose out on this feature on Windows Mobile 7 platform, and app download is only possible from the online stores. But social-networking will be supported by the new OS as Facebook and Twitter will be incorporated into the user interface.

Browser might include IE 7 codebase with some elements of IE 8 with this interface of the platform being identical to that of “Zune HD”. Its Zune media player into its smartphone operating system will come into picture with the release of Windows Mobile 7 highlighting on music and video according to the leaked report.

The Mobile World Congress tradeshow next week will be equipped with information regarding the next version of Windows Mobile, as promised by Microsoft executives. CEO Steve Ballmer is expected to be the first one to reveal its first look.
